About Cindy

I didn’t grow up knowing I’d be a photographer. I graduated from UT with a degree in education and then taught school for five years.  But I’ve always had a curious heart—a love for people and their stories. That curiosity grew into a calling the day my mom bought me my first real camera. I was a young mom then, and something about capturing my children’s love and laughter pulled me in. Over the years, I’ve studied, practiced, failed, grown, and followed where God has led me—including opening Cindy Crofford Photography and photographing hundreds of families, seniors, and children who have become part of my story. I opened my own studio in 2007 and moved my studio to my home in September of 2024.

My mom used to say, “Go out and learn how to be with people… all kinds of people. And find something you like about them.” I’ve taken that to heart every day I’ve held a camera. To me, portraits are more than pictures—they are reminders. That you’re beautiful. That you matter. That this moment in your life is worth remembering. My clients often tell me they feel like we’re just hanging out, and that’s exactly how I want it to feel. You bring your family, I bring my camera, and together we uncover the beauty that’s already there. The real you—not the posed or polished version, but the perfectly imperfect you that your people adore.

These days, I’m working out of my home studio in Houston, doing what I love most: photographing about 100 sessions a year and pouring deeply into each one. I believe in quality over quantity, in loving people well, and in leaving my clients with more than just images. I want you to walk away feeling inspired.
