Frequently Asked Questions

What is your
business philosophy?

I want to photograph fewer people and take really good care of them. I specialize in finished wall art and custom designed albums.

What is the best way to reach you?

The best way to reach me is to call the studio or email Kathy and myself. My email is cindy@cindycroffordphotography.com and Kathy's is kathy@cindycroffordphotography.com

How many clothing items should I bring?

If in doubt, please bring it. That includes hats, sunglasses, and your favorite last minute choices. However, part of my job is to help you not get overwhelmed. One of my favorite Mary Cassatt quotes: "Some ideas can only be accessed by action."

What if it rains?

We will confirm your appointment the previous day. If the weather is questionable, we will touch base with you around 1pm to determine if we need to reschedule. Please feel free to call the studio - we love phone calls and questions!

Is a planning session needed?

What should I wear?

If you are a rising senior, come in casual clothes. Bring your clothing selections on hangers and put them on the rack we will have set up. We can review and choose what you will wear at each location. I am looking for color harmony with your clothes and the location. Most often, families come dressed. However, you are always welcome to change here. Children usually change at the studio.

YES! YES! YES!

Most people call when it's time for portraits due to a milestone, but have not thought past the initial call. Seniors initiate the call due to yearbook deadlines, sorority rush/recruitment images and most often, just a lovely milestone portrait. Children have a loose tooth and time becomes the motivator. My goal is to make your life easier so that you have a plan due to brainstorming and what you really want in a finished portrait. Talking face to face helps us get to know each other before the portrait session.

Can I bring my cell phone?

Simple. Put them away.

Cell phones are very distracting to me. Your images will be better if both of us are totally focused, connected, and in the zone. This includes parents and includes the ordering session. Plus, cell phones end up in pockets and can make you appear bulky. I want you to have social media files, but I want them polished and for you to look your best before

posting them.

What about Instagram and Facebook?

Follow me on Instagram @cindy_crofford_photography and like me on Facebook! I have personal accounts that you are welcome to follow that allows you to see me "off the clock." I am the same person at work as I am at home.

How long will the session last?

I allow two hours for the portrait session and the ordering appointments. It won't take that long, but I like for us to not be rushed - but relaxed and unhurried! There needs to be time for appreciating the moment and enjoying the session.

When will I see my images?

When do I place my order?

Most people place their order at the viewing and ordering session. Be prepared, have all the decision makers present, and have measurements of the places the portraits will live. Additionally, make a list of all the people you want to give a portrait to... grandparents, family members, mom and dad's office, bedside table (one of my favorite places.)

Each portrait that you order includes a social media file, which is a non-printable, low resolution file for sharing on screens and emails. Please remember that these images are copyrighted. I take great care and great pride in the portraits that will bring you so much joy.

I edit the images and eliminate the blinks and then choose the best of several images. It usually takes about a week to have the images ready to view at the ordering session. As Matthew McConaughey says, "All killa and no filla." I promise that you will love them and will be happy!
